That Numb feeling....

So this morning the Older Giant and I got the bus to the hospital as Father was out at bootfair (buying) and wouldn't have made it back on time to give us a lift (saving us money on bus fair!)
I was seen fairly quickly actually I thought I would've had to wait a while, but it was withing 10 mins of getting there.
The OG sat in the waiting room listening to his music and watching the cooking program that was on the TV there.
The Surgeon? Dr? or official term the Oral/Maxillofacial skin Surgeon talked me through the procedure and I had to sign a form....then onto the operation. I had 3 injections into my right gum just behind my back molar which felt really weird as it numbed up. Almost like something was wedged there. It was even stranger being awake through the operation!! I would have much preferred to of been asleep, seeing someone coming at your mouth with sharp looking objects is rather disconcerting.  I think I was there for 20 mins it could have been longer, but without my glasses on I could hardly see the time. After the op I had to sit with some gauze over the wound then they checked it to make sure it was looking OK....
I was almost through the door to leave the operating bay when I realised I had left my bag in there! Luckily the other nurse bought it down to me. I called to the OG who was not happy to be disturbed from watching the program LOL!!
We got the bus back home and saw The Parents in the car on the way to shopping, I thought Father would have stopped, but he didn't so I eventually had to get a taxi to join them as I know Mother can't shop without me there. (She forgets so many things even with a list!)
By that time my mouth was numb and my speech was all slurred and strange.

The Giants were making fun of me when I got back home as half my words were slurred and they could hardly understand me. I could hardly open my jaw either. So I went to my room to continue with the embroidery for the Younger Giants present....sadly he saw some of it as he kept wandering into my room at regular intervals!! I got him to choose two buttons as well...
He also likes hedgehogs so I added one onto the bottom of the back for him.

The back a bit larger for you to see

I don't think he saw the hedgehog going on.....It's all pinned up and ready to be sewn....I was told not to operate any machinery so I couldn't use Jano today....
Right now my mouth feels all numb again...I'm sure keeping it closed makes it worse...I really want a yogurt, but can't have anything too cold today =C

Tomorrow the pain is supposed to be worse!! Glad it's a Sunday and I don't do much expect for brunch making and sewing.....

Siya'll tomorrow =D

Busy as a B!

Today has been the longest day of the week yet! I got up and had to go to an appointment in town, that didn't last too long so I went around the shops quickly and actually didn't buy the things I needed (having no money right now doesn't help) So I jumped on a bus that stops near to work (had to get off the bus and walk down a seemingly long road, which took some 5mins) got it and was straight to typing up shipping labels and then the phone was ringing on and off then customers were coming in. One lady was there for a good half hour dithering about buying some vacuums, luckily I didn't have to deal with her for long...only she went on the phone and was talking so loudly when I was on the phone to another customer, I just about made out what he was saying....once I had hung up...
Then another lady came in with a complaint on her hoover and so she had to wait for it to be checked out.....oddly the guys found no fault with it so all we could do was give her a refund.....after that she was heading out to leave then changed her mind and asked the prices of some vacuums in the show room (of which no prices are currently sorted out!!) so I had to Google the prices which took a while, then she wanted to actually test the vacuum!! So I had to plug it in and allow her to use it. She wasn't overly convinced and another worker had to come out and tell her which one was the best for a certain job...in the end she bought nothing!!! So much of my time used up! I did manage to get the labels typed up before the deadline....
It is crazy all the complaints we get about the same issue.....you would have thought they would have found a way to resolve it!

The Bestie and I popped into the smaller town after work as she needed to sort out some banking issues she was having.
Finally back home I opened the package that arrived this morning...

Then whilst I was making dinner I got started on the embroidery for The Younger Giants Cushion!

Just 4 more letters to go!
I have a gum operation tomorrow, so Father has been trying his best to get me to let him do it! Crazy old man! He bought his 'tools' and everything to my room not to long ago...he said he would come back when I'm sleeping and I just need to leave the money on the table! Fat chance of that happening!! The Older Giant is coming with me as the letter says to bring someone along....

Oh so like all week I kept hearing a song, playing at least 5 or more times a day. I figured the typical radio wouldn't play it so many times, so it had to be one of the workers in the warehouse with their music on a loop or maybe shuffle. I eventually had to Google the words I could hear and it turned out to be this

Taylor Swift- We are never ever getting back together
It was doing my head in to keep hearing it soooo many times in one day and not hearing the full song, just the muffled words through the walls. So I just had to find it! The video makes me laugh with the random band members in animal costumes!

Present in the makings...

So with the Younger Giants birthday coming up in like 8 days I thought I best get a move on with making him something. I pulled out the left over wedges from the pillows and had to to change them round as mostly pinks and browns were left! I managed to find a few other colours, and sort the other leftovers into reasonable colour schemes....

I still had to use a pink wedge, but hopefully he wont notice/mind....it's the lightest shade there was (the others were bright pink!)

Teamed with the fun rainbow sashing...

I found some green fabric to back it with. I'm not sure what kind of material it is at all, but it has a nice soft feel to it and is light in weight.

I eventually plan to rainbow embroider his name, I'll possibly get some done tomorrow when I get home....When I get started on embroidery it becomes so addictive! With some luck I should have it finished by Sunday stuffing and all. I'll let him pick a button for it.....not that I'll tell him what its for...

Oh and a picture of the bobbin casing which was casing the strange clicking noise...of which I didn't hear today, maybe Jano can read minds about him going to be checked out!

Well tomorrow is going to be a long day. I have a random appointment, maybe I'll grab some food after leaving there....then off to work for a shorter day!

Anyone for a Quilt sandwich?...

I'm going to end up really hating labels! Lol. So this funny thing happened. On our eBay systems a lot of products were mysteriously marked as not dispatched (all the way from June!)...there were over 1000 of them! So the manager went through them and marked them as dispatched...now to my knowledge when this happens you get sent an email to say your item has been dispatched. I mentioned this, but she said hopefully that wouldn't matter.....So nearing the end of the day we had some phone calls from customers about the dispatches! We were trying hard not to laugh....just think if over 1000 were 'dispatched' and a few people have called already......you can just imagine what tomorrow will be like.....

Back at the sewing desk armed with snacks. I made up some quilt sandwiches to continue practicing the FMQ....only first I had to re-spin some bobbins...

Practicing some loops and meandering....I should have used another colour other than the white! I made up two sandwiches, a big one and a smaller one. As you can see I need a lot of practice....I think when I tried before with the normal foot it was much neater!

I'm still far off from doing any major quilting, I may use these samples as some coasters...
I'll have to watch a few more tutorials to get better

Jano is still sounding off. I'll have to find out what days the machine shop is open as well as opening hours....

Siya'll tomorrow
