The stars are bright tonight.....

It's only me again with yet more finishes to share. I'm running out of things to make now! My WIP pile is going down....anyone have some quick makes they would like to share?  Comment them here. =1 Here it's 10pm so my title makes sense in this part of the world!

I started these when I was recovering from my operation. I was bored during the day and these passed the time perfectly/ Mind you the shapes were already basted...it was just the case of sewing...more sewing....stuffing....even more sewing....buttoning and they were done!
I do love pincushions and they can be made in such fun shapes!

I've rambled long enough....See you all later

Cherie! =]

Cushion Done!

Work was crazy busy the phone would not stop ringing...I swear I'm being sabotaged!!

One present for the Younger Giant down, one to be delivered tomorrow. His card has been written up, all ready and set for Friday...I may treat him to dinner too....we shall see......

I had to stuff it in secret, though luckily he stayed in his room, just the Older Giant was being a pain in the butt! He stood at my door knocking until I got up to answer it even though I called 'who is it' he refused to come in!

So not either of the buttons he chose! They were not practical.......

Then I got an email from Kristy-Quiet Play to become an Honourary Aussie for Polaroid Swap she's hosting! So I pulled out my scraps and a few ready made squares to use for the blocks. I shockingly have like no feature prints for fussy cutting.....hoping the I-spy swap I joined will help with that!

Just have the white fabric to iron then cut and these blocks will be underway...as I have to ship mine earlier....

Siya'll tomorrow =D

Just Stamp it out!

Let's go back in time for a moment. Back to Friday to be exact.

Before we left I got my parcel from Sticky Tiger Supplies in the mail! I ordered some stamps, fabric glue, ink, a tag pad, two fabric pens and an acrylic block for the stamps.

In the car on my journey I got on with sewing up my next MAM hexie panel, I got four rows done before the journey ended. 3 more to sew.

Yesterday after we got back from shopping I tried out my new stamps
The stamp was larger than I expected it to be. Too large for my sewing kits!

So I went with the larger button stamp instead, for the pincushions, which still need to be stuffed...

After stamping I started making magnets for the next round of the RATZ Swap...well trying them out to see if they would work.
They started as 5" squares I cut them down to quarters

Make note it is easier to insert the magnet after you have turned it right side out....unless you leave a big enough turning gap!

This morning before the Sunday Brunch I got on with some more stamping. I used the butterfly stamp on half of the sewing kits and the other half I used the birdie stamp.

After brunch I had a fun idea to turn my magnets also into pincushions. So now I have mini magnet pincushions.
I bought a very cheap baking sheet to use as my magnet board.

I used the scraps left over from the pouches, plus some solid scraps to make them. The backs were 2.5" squares I had left over from granny block making.

I just have to sew up the edges....or maybe I'll use the fabric glue...or my good friend Hemming Web. Not all of them will be for my swap partner though....

Today is the last day to enter my GIVEAWAY. The people who have already entered your names have been jotted down and put in the....(camera case for safe keeping)....Anyone else who enters between now and the drawing will be entered too.

The prizes are underway..The pouch is done. I just have to stuff the pincushions and they'll be ready to go to lucky winners. The secret item is also made!

Well that's all from me. Siya'll tomorrow =D

That Friday feeling!

I think today was rather busy, yet super relaxed for me! Which makes a change since I'm always busy sewing. Today was a mix of washing-Clothes- Cooking-Lunch and dinner- Hand Sewing!
(Dinner was handmade Jamaican Curried beef patties! If you'd like the recipe let me know.)

So I rescued the owls from the airing cupboard and actually remembered to take some pictures. They are so cute. I've ordered some stuffing (from eBay), which will arrive sometime next week..once it gets here they can be stuffed sewn and done!

I did think about binding the granny quilts then hand quilting, but I thought the hand-stitching may distort the quilt. So quilting first binding after. I went with echo quilting around each block. I started with the brown/black blocks first, as I already had brown perle. I've done the blocks on both. Now onto the red/yellow/orange....I have red perle for them.

The lobster clips I ordered came today,  as I was inspired to make up some key fobs/pouches in the near future. All thanks to the RATZ Swap

Reading through the blogs as I do each night I came across this

There and Back

I'll be joining in courtesy of my recent love for hand-stitching!.
Hop over to This post I have an idea for a swap and would like to see if anyone would be interested in joining it.

When things don't go to plan

So there I was about to start my new project when my father came in claiming I couldn't use 'his' machine as mine had broken down and I might break his. Make note he has never used it and claims he'll take it for his mother when he goes to Jamaica.  The poor machine has been sitting there for the past 6 months so me using it wasn't going to harm it.
So this has put a stall on my sewing as some projects are easier done by machine. I'll do some of the smaller ones by hand, possibly make a few pincushions, though I need to invest in some stuffing.....
On a plus note my machine can be repaired free of charge only I have to wait a maximum of 16 days for it....deary me. I suppose I can use the time to cut more fabrics ready for new projects...that is of course when I decide which ones will go first...any suggestions...My fabrics
