A sigh of relief and an Idea...

I'd like to start by thanking those who left such nice comments yesterday. After getting some sleep and thinking a little more rationally I did also wonder if the email sent was just a hoax. It did come with a virus after all that thankfully my laptop wouldn't let me open! My arm is also feeling better. I didn't do any cutting and won't have to for a few days as I have some, just to be sewn WIPs.

On to sewing...I started on the owls and came to the realisation that I'd only cut body features to make 12! I really need to get some more bonderweb, mine is running low already after cutting all the features (for just 12)
I have 10 owl bodies with no features...poor things. So i made 6 girly ones and 6 boyish ones.
I would have taken a picture, but they were damp from the bonding so I put them into the airing cupboard to dry out. There was just one error in sewing

One right side and one wrong side! Fool!

With the extra 6 wing pieces that weren't part of the flowers from yesterday's post (the one with 5 I took the extra 1 from the 9) I started on a cushion cover for this pillow, that has oddly been in the family since I can remember. The cover it has, has been on it for just as long. It was in need of a makeover. I stuffed the pillow some more as it was a bit on the flat side.
Make note the cover is not finished. I'm using the purple duvet cover to back it. Odd combo, but wait till you see the petals
The cover before (the pillow has been stuffed)

I draped the to be new cover over it for emphasis.
I've added a button flower to the middle where the points meet. The back is ready to sew on. I'm going to sew around the petals in a few colours before hand...once I decide which colours that is. I love the petals specially the larger frog one! If anyone has that fabric I'll happily trade something with you. Speaking of which I still have these available. Plus a few others on my bought fabric page..which I'll add shortly to the swap shop to save on some confusion.

The idea

As you all know I love swapping and scraps, so I wondering if anyone would be interested in a scrap swap?
There would be 12 swappers. (13 with me included)  We all put in an FQ worth of scraps. You send them to me along with an SASE. I mix them all up and post you back an FQ worth of scraps. You then have the next month to make as many things, or maybe one awesome thing with your scraps. You link up any items made from the scraps. 3 winners will be picked at random to win a prize at the end of the month (of course I wouldn't be joining the giveaway).
Sound like a good idea? Would any of you be interested?

Well that's all from me folks =D

Screaming on the inside!

So lately I haven't been feeling too great. My right arm is hurting more and more each day, right from my elbow going up...maybe I have sewers elbow...providing there is such a thing. I decided not to do the carnival as you had to do 2 days and there was no option to do just the one. With just me sewing I would of had to make a boat load of things which I know I wouldn't be able to manage.
I know you may read my posts and think wow that's a lot of things, I tend to waste a lot of time thinking and procrastinating actually so it's a wonder I get anything done!

Today I felt worse the pain is increasing, but I've been trying not to think about it as I love sewing too much to stop. I don't really want to take any tablets and I know that's what the doctor will say to do. Then to top off not feeling so great I saw this email.

I don't know what to do. I'm in the UK so is there even a way for me to get it? I don't want to end up getting charged. It won't let me print the supposed label either as a virus is on it! I've written to the person I think the parcel is from, but I'm not sure if even they can get it back!

At the chopping block-OK Ironing board!

Yup that's where I spent pretty much the whole day (when I wasn't eating lunch and watching TV that is)
I was ironing fabric all ready for cutting. I could have ironed it after cutting, but some pieces were very wrinkled even though I folded them nicely!
I saw these on the Stubbornly Crafty Blog and well they were too cute not to make. So I raided my stash for every child friendly print and got cutting and cutting and more cutting...oh and there is more to come later...once I've finished drawing, then cutting the eyes from the fusible web....

I stored the body and wing pieces separately in the lovely and handy box Father picked up for me at the boot fair....there were some other goodies, which I still haven't taken a picture of! I'll get round to it tomorrow.

The deeper draw is filled with the trimmings from around each body/wing part. It's a great place for me to store all the nicer scraps!

This is the second set of flat drawers.nothing is in them yet. They currently all rest somewhere by my bed...which happens to be next to my sewing space!

I wanted to get these out of the way as I figured they would take quite some time to cut. I don't quite know How many I cut exactly...I'd say more than a dozen.....Though right now I only plan to make a few (I say that, but it's easy to get carried away). I'll actually do some sewing tomorrow as I still have yet to make binding for the Granny Quilts.  Polka dots! All shall be revealed tomorrow.

Oh and if you haven't all ready....head over to Lucy's for

Hey! Put that back!

So you know those bed-sheets I showed you yesterday..to refresh that tired memory of yours
Well I cut into them..and used them to back the two granny quilts I showed you, using the pillow method as I call it. Back and front right sides facing sew around edge, leave a gap for turning, turn right side out and iron slightly. I have yet to make the binding, but the strips are cut. Then these two will be done!

I also backed the item for the MSM Swap item too!(with some sewing errors as shown in the first two pictures) Some hand sewing, providing my partner likes the design and it too will be completed.
Father also went to boot fair and bought me back some goodies..which I will photograph tomorrow to share with you...=D
